The SWOSU Writing Center is located in the Library's basement.

Students working on papers, speeches, or presentations may drop in and speak with a writing consultant. Call 774-7083 to ask for an appointment or email the Writing Center at writingcenter@swosu.edu.

OWL at Purdue University

The Online Writing Lab (OWL) at Purdue University houses writing resources and instructional material. This material is free to users worldwide and users will find information to assist with many writing projects.

 

In the section for academic writing, OWL provides assistance in many areas including essay writing, active and passive voice, sentence variety, and paragraphing. Also, provides helps with writer's block, establishing arguments, creating a thesis statement, developing an outline, and proofreading.

The UNC Writing Center houses writing resources and instructional material. This material is free to users worldwide and users will find information to assist with many writing projects.

 

The UNCWC divides their website into four areas: writing a paper, citation style, specific writing, and writing in specific fields of study.

 

Some helpful areas: Forming an argument, thesis statements, paragraph development, fragments & run-ons, reorganizing drafts, revising drafts, and editing and proofreading.
