Journal References

In-text references that are used within the text of the paper appear in brackets and consist of the author(s) last name, as well as the document's year of publication (e.g. Smith 2008). 

The reference list at the end of the work is referred to as the end reference list and appears in alphabetical order by the author's last name.

EXAMPLES OF END REFERENCES :

Citation-Sequence and Citation-Name:

Author(s).  Article title. Journal title. Date; volume (issue):pagination.

Example:

Smart N, Fang ZY, Marwick TH.  A practical guide to exercise training for heart failure patients. J Card Fail.       2003;9(1):49-58. 

Name-Year:

Author(s). Date. Article title. Journal title. Volume(issue):pagination. 

Example:

Smart N, Fang ZY, Marwick TH. 2003. A practical guide to exercie training for heart failure patients. J. Card Fail. 9(1):49-58

NUMBER OF AUTHORS:

When there are 2 to 10 authors, list them all, including the 10th author; if there are more than 10 authors, list the first 10 followed by "et al" or "and others".
