Voices and Votes: Democracy in America: Oral History Project

The SWOSU Library, in partnership with Oklahoma Humanities, brings Voices and Votes: Democracy in America to western Oklahoma. This Smithsonian traveling exhibit will be open Oct. 26 - Dec. 7, 2024.

About Voices of Western Oklahoma: An Oral History Project

Voices of Western Oklahoma: An Oral History Project is a series of interviews with western Oklahomans sharing their life experiences with American democracy. The interviews are part of the SWOSU Library's presentation of the Smithsonian Museum on Main Street's traveling exhibit, Voices and Votes: Democracy in America.

The interviews are conducted by Mr. Jason Dupree, SWOSU Al Harris Library Director. The interviews will become a part of the exhibit, and will be preserved for future generations in the SWOSU Digital Commons by the SWOSU Stafford Archives. Visit the Digital Commons to watch and hear the full collection of interviews.

To the interviewees: We sincerely extend our thanks to you for your time and willingness to share your experiences. Your contributions enrich the Voices and Votes: Democracy in America exhibit experience for every Oklahoman.
