The SWOSU Library, in partnership with Oklahoma Humanities, brings Voices and Votes: Democracy in America to western Oklahoma. This Smithsonian traveling exhibit will be open Oct. 26 - Dec. 7, 2024.

Welcome!

Voices and Votes: Democracy in America

The Smithsonian’s Museum on Main Street, in cooperation with Oklahoma Humanities, presents Voices and Votes: Democracy in America. The exhibition examines the nearly 250-year-old American experiment of "a government of, by and for the people," and how each generation since continues to question how to form "a more perfect union." Hosted by the SWOSU Al Harris Library, Voices and Votes will be open to the public October 26th through December 7th, 2024.

Everyone is invited to visit the exhibition during regular Al Harris Library hours.

The exhibition features a dynamic and engaging six panel multimedia display, including historical and contemporary photos, videos, and interactive screens with games and supplemental footage, photos, and facts.

We welcome school and community groups to experience Voices and Votes: Democracy in America. Fill out this form to schedule a visit for your class or group. (View available times and dates.)

From revolution and suffrage, to civil rights and casting ballots, everyone is part of this ever-evolving story.
