The mission of the Museum on Main Street is to share the Smithsonian's vast collection of historical resources with small-town America. The Museum on Main Street's traveling exhibits engage audiences and offer rural communities a way to experience and appreciate America's heritage. The Voices and Votes: Democracy in America exhibit is currently on display in Oklahoma, Florida, and North Carolina.
The SWOSU Library is conducting an oral history project to complement the traveling Smithsonian Exhibit, Voices and Votes: Democracy in America. The interviews will become part of the exhibit and added to the SWOSU Digital Archive. There, these recorded histories will be maintained in perpetuity.
Find the date for your community and join us to share your thoughts on democracy in western Oklahoma.
