The Al Harris Library in partnership with Oklahoma Humanities is bringing Voices & Votes: Democracy in America, a Smithsonian traveling exhibit to the SWOSU campus October 26, 2024 - December 7th 2024.

Museum on Main Street

The mission of Museum on Main Street is to provide access to the Smithsonian for small-town America. Museum on Main Street engages small-town audiences and brings attention to underserved rural communities. The Voices and Votes traveling exhibition is currently on display in the states of Florida, North Carolina and Oklahoma.

Schedule: Oral History - Voices of Western Oklahoma

We are composing an oral history project to compliment the traveling Smithsonian Exhibit, Voices and Votes: Democracy in America. Once the interviews are complete, they will be part of the Exhibit and then added to the SWOSU Digital Archive, where they will be housed in perpetuity.
