Al Harris Library Renovations: FAQ

How long will the Al Harris Library be under renovation?

The renovation will begin May 2019 and continue throughout the remainder of the year.

 

Will the library be closed during the renovation?

No, the library will maintain its regular hours of operation. Please visit our calendar for more information.

 

Why is it so noisy?

Moving and construction crews are actively working on the second floor. Disposable earplugs are available at the Circulation Desk. Besides sounds, you may experience odors and fumes which may cause headaches. We apologize for the inconvenience.

 

Can I still use a study carrel or group study room?

No, all study spaces on the second floor are unavailable for the duration of the renovation process.

 

Can I still reserve the Huddle Room?

No, the Huddle Room is unavailable during the renovation process.

 

Where are all of the books?

The book collection was housed offsite for the majority of the renovation project. This collection has been returned to the second floor but it remains inaccessible to the public until the renovation process is complete. 

 

How can I retrieve books for my research project?

Books can be requested Monday through Friday at either the Circulation Desk or online through our Discovery Search. The daily request deadline is 12:00 pm (noon) and materials will be available for pickup at Circulation Desk after 4:00 pm. Please allow for two business days to process book requests. Items requested will be held for 7 days before being returned to the offsite facility.
